For to us a child is born
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.’
Christmas is drawing very near. What does this time mean for you? Does it bring anticipation?
For many christmas is a time for gift giving and spending with loved ones. Decking your halls with trees and pretty things.
All these things in and of them selves are a nice touch. I myself like to decorate my home for this season.
But even the grandest display or biggest gift we make or give does not compare to the beauty that God has given.
This is the most Excellent one of them all. Do you know what that is? Or should I say who that is?
Salvation is what and Jesus is who died that we may have life.
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”—Romans 10:9-13
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.—Ephesians 2:8-9
And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.—Colossians 2:13-14
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.—Titus 2:11-14
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,—John 1:12
Do you know Him? I pray that the most excellent gift that will ever be given ,you will receive it with great joy.
